Rather than positioning artificial intelligence as a separate app or assistant, the company’s new strategy envisions Windows itself as an active, context-aware platform capable of understanding tasks, automating workflows, and assisting users in real time.

At the heart of this plan is the concept of AI agents that operate persistently within Windows, working across apps, files, settings, and cloud services. These agents are designed to go beyond simple voice commands or chatbot interactions.
