Gujarat Sees Mild Relief as Winter Chill Softens Across the State

Gujarat experienced a slight but noticeable easing in winter temperatures on Monday, bringing some relief after several days of sharp early-morning chill. According to weather officials, minimum temperatures across major districts such as Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Rajkot, and Surat have risen by 1–2°C compared to the previous week. While the nip in the air continues during late nights and early mornings, the overall intensity of cold winds has reduced due to changing wind patterns and a gradual increase in humidity.

Ahmedabad recorded a marginal rise, with the minimum temperature hovering around 14–15°C, offering residents a more comfortable start to the day. Similar patterns were observed across Saurashtra and Kutch, where cold northerly winds had been dominating since last week. Meteorologists said the relief is temporary, as another dip in temperatures may occur by the weekend due to a fresh northern disturbance.

Despite the slight warmth, many regions still experienced foggy mornings and reduced visibility, especially in North Gujarat. Health officials continue to advise precautions for children and senior citizens as fluctuating temperatures may lead to seasonal illnesses. Overall, the mild rise in temperatures has given the state a brief respite, even as winter conditions are expected to persist.
